NEW PROJECTS –

1)   SINGING FOR SWAZILAND2011 / 2012
Jane has been asked to make a CD at various times so instead of going away on a mission trip this winter she decided to make a cd( instead of using the money for the trip). She is recording a CD of mixed Christian/ secular uplifting songs , assisted by family and friends. The bulk of proceeds will go towards SWAZILAND Challenge Miniistries  plus a percentage to the Charity Rural Ministries. The CD is being prepared and will hopefully be available from February 2012.

INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING JANE'S MUSICAL FUNDRAISER? PLEASE EMAIL – thehomesteadtrust@gmail.com with your details.

2) NURSE TRAINING FOR NOKHUTULA
In order to continue to provide ongoing medical care for the children and community we were thrilled to have arranged a place for Nokhtula, one of the house mothers , to be trained in South Africa. Out of 18 people who went for the three day interview only six were accepted and she was one of the best! The course began in January 2010 and completed in December 2010 .

Progress
In order for Nokutlua to be trained it was neccesary to have a guarantor and The Homestead Trust made this guarantee. With generous donations from a few pounds to
one very generous couple offering to pay £1000 and an anonymous donation of £1200 all of Nokutula's fees and expenses of £3000+ were covered.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR GENEROUS GIVING!!

WE WOULD LOVE TO SPONSOR OTHER SWAZI'S WHO LONG TO BE TRAINED . COULD YOU COULD HELP???

3) ) SWAZILANDTEAMS -  We last led a team to Swaziland from the UK in November 2010. This will be an opportunity to engage in activities such as health care teaching, life skills teaching , practical work in the rural community , craft skill training, feeding programme , youth and children’s centre work.etc. The trip also included a trip to a wildlife area.

FUTURE VISITS ARE PLANNED – INTERESTED?
Do you have medical/teaching skills you could share? Do you have a craft or other skills which you could teach to locals during the trip? Interested contact Jane & Paul.

4) SEEDS FOR SWAZILAND - Seeds transported from UK continue to be used to grow seedlings and plants for local homesteads.

5) HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY – Visitors (UK)
Paul & Jane continue to be involved in Hospital visitation ministry in UK. They lead a monthly “Songs of Praise “ joint churches team around the local hospital where Paul is the Chaplaincy lead.
Paul completed an 8 week training course with local volunteers recently and 12 people have applied to form a new team he will lead at the hospital .

Marion Walker Memorial
The Walker family expressed their thanks and appreciation for all the sympathy , prayers , thoughts and kindness which were extended to them with the loss of Marion (mum) Walker.

Marion ( and her late husband Aubrey) were both very active Christians supporting gospel outreach and charitable care both at home and around the world. Marion was very supportive of work amongst children. Therefore,  the family felt it appropriate in naming the library, to be set up at the children's centre in Swaziland, in her memory and asking for donations to go to that project.
